Description Commanding magnificent views over the sea, the sandy beaches and rock pools of Hope Cove and the wooded headland of Bolt Tail , Drake House is accessed by a steep drive and is superbly located less than 100 yards away from a beach (this beach is dog-free May-Sept, whilst another, 100 yards, is dog-friendly). The village, with its many thatched cottages, offers many of the usual delights for a seaside family holiday and there is a public launching slip for dinghies. Nearby, the South Devon Coastal Footpath offers superb walking with spectacular views of the coastline. The bustling market town of Kingsbridge (4 miles) offers a leisure centre with Olympic-size swimming pool, badminton, squash and bowls, theatre, cinema, and steamer trips to Salcombe. Here, in the southernmost of the Devon resorts, the atmosphere is almost Mediterranean, with yachts and fishing boats thronging the estuary, lovely sandy beaches, ice-cream coloured houses and a wonderfully mild climate. Between here and Hope Cove lies the National Trust-owned Overbecks Museum and Garden, which is home to many rare plants. A short drive to the north, the rugged vastness of the Dartmoor National Park invites exploration, with excellent opportunities for walking and riding. Archaeologically, this is one of the richest areas of Britain, with remains dating back to the Bronze Age. Also within easy touring distance is Plymouth with a wealth of interest for all members of the family. There is the excellent Theatre Royal, the Naval Dockyard with its historic ships, Plymouth Dome with high-tech displays, Aquarium, the old Barbican harbour area, and excellent shopping facilities. Post office, general stores, restaurant, pub and dinghy slipway in Hope Cove. Shop and P.O. in village. Entrance hall. Two living rooms, one with open fire and one with doors to loggia. Dining room with Rayburn (for seasonal use) leading to modern, well-equipped kitchen. Utility. Large conservatory with Italian marble floor and superb sea and harbour views. Wet room. First floor: Two double bedrooms, each with 5ft bed, superb sea views and en-suite shower room with toilet. Two twin bedrooms (one compact). Bathroom with toilet.
