Description Macs House is a delightful 100 year old, spacious, detached holiday property which has been significantly modernised and extended over the years. Ideal for family holidays, it is situated in a very peaceful and rural position on the Shropshire/Herefordshire border, a quarter of a mile down a farm track, surrounded by rolling fields, and a huge lawned garden, great for children to work off excess energy and perfect for dining al-fresco. This spacious house has four bedrooms in the main house and a further two bedrooms in a separate annexe, together with a games room. Walking is available from the house - indeed the Herefordshire Trail passes a few hundred yards away. In the nearby village of Bromfield, the Food Centre with a range of farm produce is well worth a visit, and just five miles away is the lovely market town of Ludlow, once described by Betjeman as ‘the most perfect town in England’. With its wonderful medieval and Georgian architecture, including a cathedral-sized parish church, ruined castle and local museum, Ludlow has much to offer the visitor including a wide range of places to shop or eat. Stokesay Castle at Craven Arms and Berrington Hall (NT) near Leominster are a short drive away, and both the Ironbridge Gorge and Severn Valley Railway, perfect for family days out, are within easy reach. The quirky town of Bishop’s Castle with its House on Crutches and variety of small shops tumbling down the high street is well worth a visit, as is Bridgnorth on the River Severn and the city of Hereford with its fascinating cathedral. Shops 6 miles. Living room with wood-burning stove and French doors. Well-equipped kitchen/dining room with electric range (for cooking), wooden floor and French doors. Utility and toilet.
