Adjoining another property (very thick walls), it makes a wonderful touring base for the Dales and North York Moors through which are picturesque drives to the seaside at Scarborough and Whitby. Fountains Abbey is just 9 miles away and Thirsk 7 miles, with its James Herriot Museum. Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey both within 20 miles. York, home to the Jorvik Viking Centre and National Railway Museum, is 24 miles. Stately homes, top race courses and theme parks provide entertainment for all the family. Shops 5 miles.
